Overview: The Discoveries in Writing Club uses the material from the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW). Using interesting topics, this theme-based writing curriculum will teach students structure and style that will greatly enhance their writing ability. This course is for all writers. In the words of Andrew Pudewa, the founder and director for IEW, he states the design of the writing program is, “to transform even the most reluctant writer and to supercharge the most talented writer.”
Goals:
- Develop skills in summarizing single and multiple references.
- Write creatively and clearly from pictures.
- Master the topic-clincher rule for cohesive paragraphs.
- Create and use Key Word Outlines and source outlines effectively.
